Top Stylists have developed an exceptional understanding of hair, fashion and individual style. They’re highly accomplished professionals who know how to translate their expertise into beautiful, wearable results.

Many have contributed to our photographic collections, participated in stage presentations and played an important role in educating and mentoring the next generation of Mien hairdressers.

They’re also passionate advocates of Aveda, with a deep understanding of how professional products and home care can support beautiful, healthy hair.

First, let’s clear something up. Being a Senior Stylist doesn’t mean you’re entitled to discounted movie tickets or a seniors’ pension!

At Mien, it’s a recognition of professional achievement.

Our Senior Stylists have progressed beyond the fundamentals of hairdressing and developed a sophisticated understanding of how to interpret fashion and personalise it for the individual.

They understand that a beautiful haircut or colour isn’t simply about following a trend. It’s about considering your hair texture, face shape, lifestyle, personal style and the way you want to feel.

At this level, our hairdressers have developed specialist expertise in cutting, colouring or both.

They have the technical confidence to adapt and refine their work, rather than simply reproduce a standard haircut or colour formula.

Our Senior Stylist level also represents a wonderful middle pricing option, combining advanced expertise with excellent value.

Every great hairdresser starts somewhere, but at Mien, reaching Stylist level is an achievement in itself.

Before joining this level, our emerging hairdressers complete the Mien Stylist Test, an important milestone in their professional development.

It’s a fantastic day where they have the opportunity to demonstrate their technical precision, organisational skills, consultation techniques, understanding of client service and ability to deliver beautiful hairdressing.

Our Stylists are generally recent graduates or advanced apprentices who have demonstrated the skills and confidence required to work at this level.

They’re enthusiastic, fashion-aware and eager to build lasting relationships with their guests.

And while they’re still developing their experience, they’re doing so within a salon that places enormous importance on education, mentoring and professional standards.

Our Stylist level offers particularly attractive pricing, making it an excellent choice for guests who want quality, personalised hairdressing in a beautiful salon environment.
