A versatile hairstylist with experience working with top hair brands like L’Oréal, Kérastase, Orbie, and Kevin Murphy. Danny's expertise has taken him to top events like L’Oréal Fashion Week and styling sessions with Kevin Murphy. His session work as a stylist opened doors to national and International Kevin Murphy Fashion Week events too.

Before hairdressing, Danny worked on and off in the entertainment industry and even won an acting scholarship to Hong Kong. Beneath the performer was always a creative eye, which naturally pulled him into the fashion world. Through a few chance encounters, editorial styling became the doorway into hair—and it stuck.

As both a stylist and an owner, he sets a high bar—technically, creatively, and professionally—and continues to push the standard of work across the salon.

Dejan joined Mien just a month after directing hair and make-up for Serbia’s Fashion Week. He’s an intriguing artist with serious credentials and one of those people who is simply captivating to watch work.

While he looks highly creative on the floor, Dejan is actually very technical in his thinking. This really shows when he leads styling and blow-dry training with the team. His approach is precise, structured, and deeply considered—sectioning, tension, weight, finish. The team love learning from him because he explains why something works, not just how.

Dejan moved to Australia with his partner in pursuit of a bigger, better life and a more expansive creative career. He’s particularly known for exceptional blow-dries, up-styles, and make-up, and for the way he enjoys the full transformation from start to finish. Outside the salon, he runs a YouTube channel creating make-up tutorials.

He’s excellent with short hair and an absolute weapon when it comes to styling and finishing work. Calm, confident, and technically spot-on.

Top Stylist | Colour Specialist | Aveda Ambassador Educator

With nearly two decades of industry experience across Sydney, London, Berlin, and now Melbourne, Clare brings exceptional depth in colour, education, and leadership. Her work is modern, thoughtful, and grounded in strong technical fundamentals.

Beyond Mien, Clare has achieved another level as an Aveda Ambassador Educator, regularly working with Aveda in an educational capacity. She performs stage work, demonstrating the latest colour techniques and sharing progressive ideas that help shape how colour is approached in salons today.

Certified as a Trainer and Assessor, Clare delivers advanced colour training to Mien’s emerging stylists. She thrives on helping juniors build confidence, always with manageability and hair integrity front of mind. Condition, for Clare, is never optional.

Clare has introduced Tissue Lights to Mien, among other modern techniques—allowing clients to go softer, lighter, or more natural without compromising the hair. She loves seeing guests leave feeling confident and at ease. Outside the salon, the great love of her life is her son—and that grounded energy runs through everything she does.

Senior Stylist | Reliable All-Rounder

Raised by her highly respected, passionate hairdresser mum, Wani had hairdressing in her blood from the start. Originally studying Molecular Biology at university in South Korea, she worked part-time in a salon and quickly realised that life on the salon floor—helping people look and feel their best—was far more rewarding than life in a lab.

Since moving to Australia, Wani has won multiple industry awards, including IHS, HBIA, and American Crew—recognition that reflects both her consistency and skill. She’s a true all-rounder: strong in classic cutting, precise highlighting, and beautifully balanced, wearable results.

What really sets Wani apart is her client care. She’s an excellent listener, calm under pressure, and deeply reliable. She takes her time, asks the right questions, and makes guests feel genuinely heard. Her science background gives her a sharp understanding of how Aveda ingredients work and why they matter, but it’s her steady presence and attention to detail that clients trust most.

Wani is the stylist clients come back to again and again—for timeless hair, thoughtful service, and results that quietly last.

Stylist

One of Mien’s standout cutter-colourists, Ghili began his Australian journey on a humanitarian visa. Ukrainian-born, he’ll happily tell you about his time as an illegal florist in St Petersburg—an experience that sparked both his love of working with his hands and his lifelong passion for hairdressing.

Ghili is a highly reliable, technically driven stylist with a deep curiosity for form, structure, and colour. He works confidently across four or five cutting shapes, adjusting his approach to suit hair type, face shape, and lifestyle. His training at Mien sharpened this versatility and built the consistency clients quickly come to trust.

“I’m always practising,” Ghili says. “That’s how I see myself becoming great.”

That same care extends beyond the chair. Ghili looks after the garden at Mien and is famously unable to leave for the day unless the water levels are just right and everything is thriving. It’s more than a task—it’s a mantra. He genuinely loves nature and nurture, and that calm, attentive mindset carries straight into his client work.

Deeply engaged with Aveda products, Ghili focuses on hair health, precision, and steady improvement—showing up every day with care, intent, and quiet dedication.

These days I’m less of a hairdresser and more someone who creates the space for great hairdressers to do their best work.

That idea really clicked for me back in the ’90s, sitting in the back room of a top salon on a lunch break. I was surrounded by creative, stylish people talking about fashion, clients, pressure, ambition. I remember watching them and feeling a strong pull to protect that creativity and give it a better home. Even though I was one of them, I knew my role was different.

That instinct became Mien Salon Spa.

After 25 years, I genuinely believe the team here represents some of the best hairdressers and beauty therapists we can train and attract in Melbourne—and beyond. When people come to us, what stands out isn’t just skill. It’s artistry, care, and real passion for the craft. We don’t just hire people. We partner with them.

Elspeth is one of Mien spa’s excellent specialist therapists, someone whom is dermal trained and has a deep understanding of skin. As well as providing rejuvenation and pigmentation solutions with advanced Laser therapies, Elspeth loves incorporating aromatherapy into her treatments.

Working with essential oils and the olfactory senses is a real craft and she finds that certain aromas create a sense of place, environment and seriously contribute to relaxation. Aromatherapy is an important part of the Aveda treatment experience. She loves customising treatments for each specific client and working with the essential oils is an integral part of that.
