We’re so pleased to officially introduce Liz James, who has now been with us for a few weeks and has settled seamlessly into the Mien way of working — thoughtful, collaborative and deeply results-focused.

Liz is known for precise cuts and beautifully dimensional colour, but what truly distinguishes her is her scientific approach to hair. With a background in marine biology, she brings a rare analytical understanding of structure, chemistry and long-term integrity. She doesn’t just create beautiful hair — she understands how and why it behaves the way it does.

At Mien, this pairs perfectly with Aveda’s plant-powered philosophy.

Having trained with Oribe, Kérastase and L’Oréal before transitioning into Aveda, Liz blends high-performance technical training with a more holistic, plant-based approach to hair health. She respects the science behind formulation and the power of botanicals — knowing that when you protect the internal structure of the hair and nourish it intentionally, the results are stronger, shinier and longer lasting.

Her philosophy is simple: healthy hair responds beautifully.

Liz takes the time to educate and guide her clients, creating colour and cuts that are not only visually stunning but grounded in integrity and longevity. For her, beauty isn’t about trends or fitting a mould — it’s about enhancing something authentic, so each person leaves feeling more like themselves, only brighter.
