This Earth Month, Mien Salon Spa is Taking 3 for the Sea – and Inviting You to Join Us
At Mien Salon Spa, we believe that caring for ourselves and caring for the planet go hand in hand. As we celebrate Earth Month this April, and look ahead to Earth Day on April 22nd, we’re reflecting on the simple, everyday choices we can all make to reduce our impact and protect the natural world – especially our oceans.
One of the biggest threats to our environment is something many of us use without thinking twice: plastic.
Plastic was designed to last forever, but far too often, we use it just once. After that, it ends up in landfills, waterways, and oceans where it doesn’t disappear – it breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces that pollute ecosystems and harm marine life. And throughout its lifecycle, plastic contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, fueling the climate crisis.
That’s why this Earth Month, we’re proud to highlight and support Take 3 for the Sea – a movement that proves small actions can make a big difference.
Founded by marine ecologist Roberta Dixon-Valk, youth educator Amanda Marechal, and environmentalist Tim Silverwood, Take 3 for the Sea is a global initiative inspiring people to reduce plastic pollution through one simple idea:
Take 3.
🌿 Take 3 pieces of rubbish with you when you leave the beach, a park, a waterway – or anywhere.
🌿 Take 3 actions to reduce your single-use plastic – swap out plastic bags, bottles, and packaging for sustainable alternatives.
🌿 Take 3 people on the journey with you – spread the word and help grow the impact.
At Mien, we’re committed to sustainability year-round – from the clean, ethical products we use, to our environmentally-conscious salon practices. But April is a powerful reminder that the planet needs all of us, now more than ever.
Let’s honor Earth Month and Earth Day together by being part of the solution. Whether it’s picking up a few pieces of litter, changing one small habit, or inspiring someone else to join you, your actions matter.
