Multitasking dilutes your attention. Single-tasking helps you FOCUS on 1 thing at a time. When you give your undivided attention to tasks you find yourself completing them more efficiently and effectively. Start with simple day-to-day tasks, such as washing the dishes or making the bed. Give yourself plenty of time to be fully present at these tasks. Allow all your senses to feel and enjoy everything you do...you'll enjoy the ease and simplicity.
Technology is a wonderful thing. You're using one now to read this. It makes our lives easier when used wisely. However sometimes it takes over our lives. We are distracted by whats on the screen then whats around us. The habit of responding straight away to each beep, bell and vibration pulls us away from being present and enjoying real life experiences. Unplug for a short period of time during the day to reconnect with those around you. Take a deep breathe in and take it all in.
The breath is the link between the mind and the body. By being conscious of your breath, slowing down and deepening your breath helps you relax and calm your mind. It helps you settle before stepping into being more present of yourself and your surrounds. Experience life as it unfolds.
