Facials make a life time of difference

From personal experience I could argue that people don't really think of their skin as a complete organ of the body. They somehow think that the face is isolated from it. General care and nurturing for the face is a great idea for encouraging awareness of its function and expression. A shelf product bought in the supermarket, chemist and dare I say often the department store too can be made of mostly synthetic materials, is marked up in price and definitely not that effective long term. They may look and smell nice but so does fried hot chips when you are hungry. What about the smell of a baked potato; this is yummy too and is definitely the healthier option. So if our skin is a vital organ wouldn't you want to nourish it in an herbal basic routine? Rather than shiny, gimmicky packaged products? We look after our health by feeding our bodies with nourishing foods. If you eat organic you are less likely to need to stuff yourself with vitamins to make up for a poor diet. A facial is a healthy lifestyle choice.
The immediate benefit is touch; the body is completely surrendered and relaxed; and as many of us know (in this day and age) such a state of relaxation can be challenging to achieve. Secondly a good facial massage gets a lot of blood/oxygen flow, lymphatic drainage (to help the skin renew itself while gently draining toxins out of the skin) which is necessary for a healthy glow. Further aromatherapies work well to connect the body and combined. Great face is not all about facials though; sex and exercise is also good for healthy skin! Just as important is a basic skin care routine, sun block for the harsh aussie sun and plenty of clean water to drink. I can always see benefits with that kind of care.
But Botox makes you look younger I hear? Well once again that is a lifestyle choice. Let's just stick to the natural stuff for now. Jojoba oil is a great massage medium for the face; it is the closest oil to our own natural skin oil (sebum) the skin will welcome it if used as it blends well the skin it recognizes what is right for it. If the skin breaks out it is usually the emerging of toxins that are fighting their way out of the body. It can come up through the skin however lymphatic drainage we practice in our facials encourages it to move and drain more discreetly. Most of the AVEDA products are certified organic or include a lot of certified organic plant blends; very harmonious to the body and mind.
